My new spindle per SR's specifications arrived today. Of course I took it to her and showed it as soon as I could get away from work to do so. We gazed admiringly at it and she once again demonstrated how to spin - but of course when I come back and try it isnt so easy...

I learn something about learning weaving/craft everytime I meet SR. She told me that she too expected to learn really fast because she started out with crochet and crochet is something you can learn/figure out more quickly on your own.
